About

I studied at the Brooklyn Museum Art school and the Art Students League (ASL). I received the Thomas Hart-Benton Memorial Scholarship at ASL and studied anatomy with Robert Beverly-Hale. Here I spent three years under the mentorship of Harvey Dinnerstein, becoming a class Monitor at the National Academy of Design School of Fine Arts.

Awards: Twice received Merit Scholarships at the National Academy and studied with Mary Beth McKenzie and Ron Scherr, contemporary figurative painters. Additional accolades include the Catwalk Residency NYU, two time recipient of the Elizabeth Greenshields Foundation Grant, the Society of Illustrators Merit Award, the Alice G. Melrose Memorial Prize, and the Dr. Ralph Weiller Prize from the National Academy of Design.
“Every portrait that is painted with feeling is a portrait of the artist, not of the sitter. The sitter is merely the accident, the occasion.
